The production of mungbeans involves critical steps that result in tangible and intangible benefits over various timelines that can significantly and positively impact farm commercial profitability.

This paper will present the effect of the introduction of new varieties of mungbeans into a traditional winter and summer dryland cropping rotation on the Liverpool Plains.

It will focus on the impact mungbean production has on fixed and variable costs,return on capital and commercial outcomes using hindsight and the results over the last five seasons.
