Vijaya Singh

Dr Vijaya Singh: Research Fellow, SAFS UQ: Crop Physiologist with PhD from UQ. Vijaya’s research work mainly focuses on the physiological basis of adaptation to abiotic stresses like drought, heat stress and nutrient deficiency in summer cereals and legumes. Dr Singh has developed specific techniques to explore aspects of root system architecture as a useful trait for adaptation to abiotic stresses and plant nutrition in field crops. Similarly, innovative phenotyping techniques for a rapid screening of heat and drought tolerant genotypes, as evidenced by highly cited publications in high-ranking journals, international and national presentations, and collaboration with leading scientists in the field of abiotic stresses.
