Sue Thompson
Sue Thompson is a DAFF Qld Plant Pathology Researcher based in Toowoomba and a committee member of the ASA. She has 20 years experience in sunflower pathology research, extension and diagnostics across a range of sunflower pathogens including a focus on identifying sunflower rust races and the fungicide timing and efficacy management strategies for powdery mildew. Currently, Sue is responsible for investigating the previously undescribed causal species of Phomopsis Stem Canker in Australian sunflowers and developing management strategies for these emerging pathogens. She is also a PhD candidate with the University of Queensland.
